Description
Nederlands: Gouverneur-generaal James Loudon droeg deze rokjas van donkerblauw laken en goudborduursel. Het borduursel bestaat uit eikentakken met eikenbladeren en eikels vervlochten met lauwetakken, lauwebladeren en kelkjes. De knopen dragen een gekroonde W. Deze motieven waren typisch Europees en Nederlands en symboliseerden de macht van Nederland als koloniale overheerser. Loudon (1824-1900) was van 1871 tot 1875 gouverneur-generaal van Nederlands-Indië. Als hoogste gezagsdrager in de kolonie droeg hij het kostuum bij speciale gelegenheden.
